“Movements that use only a single muscle in isolation are considered nonfunctional. Functional forms of exercise always integrate multiple muscles and muscle groups simultaneously.”
– Gary Gray, founder of functional training
To accomplish this, FCT relies primarily on training with your own body weight. However, through the Cross Element, weights such as kettlebells, dumbbells or medicine balls and other equipment such as expander bands or TRX are also used to train inter- and intramuscular coordination.
The body becomes stronger, more agile / flexible, resistant and enduring.
